Tax Help

From July to October each year, The Tax Help program provides ATO-trained volunteers to help you lodge your tax returns online (if you have simple tax affairs and your income is $60,000 or less). They can also help with things like setting up a myGov account and letting the ATO know if you don’t need to lodge a tax return. This is a free service.

Make an appointment by phoning the ATO on 13 28 61 (select option 3, then option 2) for Tax Help services near you. Or go to ATO website for more info. 

National Tax Clinic

You may also qualify for free assistance from a National Tax Clinic program. This is a government-funded initiative that supports individuals and small businesses who are unable to access tax advice (due to economic, social or personal factors). 

Check the ATO’s list of Tax Clinics to get in contact with your nearest clinic. Appointments may be offered online or over the phone, as well as face-to-face.
